Kirby’s original painting (pictured in its frame) was gifted to master director Guillermo del Toro on the night of the 98th Academy Awards in celebration of his Oscar award winning film Frankenstein.
Originally in the collection of legendary horror and science fiction collector, Forrest J. Ackerman, the painting is a carefully rendered portrait interpretation of Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein’s Monster — a figure that fascinated del Toro from the age of seven and helped ignite the artistic journey that ultimately culminated in his 2026 film.
This collection of limited and open edition, archival prints have been created by the Josh Kirby Estate to celebrate the artists that are continuing to keep the tradition of imagination and wonder alive.
